How to Measure

We want you to order the correct sized blind for your window or living space. To get the best measurement use a metal measuring tape for accuracy and preferably use metric measurements. When measuring, decide whether you want the blind to fit outside the window recess or in the recess/on the window frame – as this will dictate the width and drop.

Inside Recess

We make a small reduction of the width of inside recess blinds for easy fitting (unless you require side fixing).

  1. Measure the height of the recess (in several places to adjust for uneven walls) and enter the smallest measurement for the Drop.

  2. Measure the width of the recess (in several places to adjust for uneven walls) and enter the smallest measurement for the Width.

  3. In comments section of order please state whether the blind will be fixed; Top Fix, Face Fix or Side Fix.

Outside Recess

Give the area you wish to cover: normally we recommend that this starts 75mm above the window recess and 75mm below it, then 10cm to each side of the recess (but you may want to change this). However, there must be a minimum of 75mm above the top of the recess for the brackets.

  1. Measure the height of the recess, and add the allowances suggested above and enter the measurement for the Drop.

  2. Measure the width of the recess, and add the allowances suggested above and enter the measurement for the Width.
